Experiment Farm Cottage is a beautiful National Trust property that was built in 1835, making it one of Australia's oldest standing properties. Today, its interiors are furnished with simple but elegant pieces that give visitors an insight into the life of its first resident, Surgeon Harris. Visitors can enjoy a guided tour and permanent display telling the story of the site in all its phases as well as a sensory garden and colonial-era games and dress-up for children.
Part of Harris Park's historical precinct, Experiment Farm Cottage is within walking distance of Hambledon Cottage and Elizabeth Farm, making it Parramatta's golden triangle of heritage houses.
At the time of writing Experiment Farm Cottage is currently closed due to COVID-19 restrictions but you can still walk to the site and admire the exterior of the house.
